Download Album Welcome to My DNA "Blackfield"
Blackfield is a music group collaboratory between Porcupine Tree founder and lead singer Steven Wilson and Aviv Israeli rock singer Geffen. In April 2010, Aviv and Steven got into the studio to begin writing the follow-up Blackfield II . Welcome to my DNA was released March 28, 2011 and supported by a European tour and also their first U.S. show ever in Mexico.
There was some overlap between Geffen Blackfield and Wilson and other projects. The song "Scars" "Clear Now", "Glow", "1,000 people," "epidemic", "End of the World" and "zygote" was originally written by Geffen in Hebrew and then translated and adapted by Blackfield even if they had not been released on his recordings yet.
The group also performs Porcupine Tree "on hold" and "Feel So Low" at times, with Geffen singing the first verse in Hebrew in the second (Geffen had already covered in his own show before forming Blackfield) and cover Alanis Morissette "Thank U", which Wilson had already recorded one of their own versions of the series covered. The song "Baptism" was originally conceived during the writing sessions of Wilson of Porcupine Tree Deadwing 2005 release, but was released Blackfield II instead.
